Palace Hotel Copenhagen opens its totally renovated 5th floor:
Award-winning Copenhagen hotel opens secret floor
Now tourists and business travellers from all over the world have the opportunity to discover the hitherto closed fifth floor of the historic Palace Hotel Copenhagen with splendid views of the Danish capital. The hotel has just completed a thorough renovation of the fifth floor and can now, for the first time in its 102 years of existence, open the doors to the floor featuring eight brand new rooms with luxury and dazzling design. In addition to the new fifth floor the hotel is proud of the two prominent prizes awarded by TripAdvisor, e.g. TripAdvisors Traveler’s Choice Award 2012.

Since the beginning of the 20th century the 64 metres high tower of the Palace Hotel Copenhagen has been part of the historical and architectural features of the Copenhagen Town Hall Square. But if you think that the hotel’s proud history has been an obstacle for progress and development, think again. Because now Scandic expands this Copenhagen landmark with a thoroughly renovated, luxurious fifth floor which is now open for guests for the first time in the hotel’s 102 years of history.

New floor with many possibilities and great flexibility
According to Managing Director Pia Jakobsen the renovation will contribute to bring the old hotel’s historical heritage into the future and strengthen the hotel’s competitiveness.

”At the Palace Hotel Copenhagen we are really happy to welcome our guests to the new surroundings. The aim of the renovation was to add extra flexibility to the ancient building. That is why we have designed a floor offering a wide range of options where guests can rent hotel a single hotel room, or they can book the entire floor. We do look forward to presenting our brand new fifth floor and to offering our guests a new product”, says Pia Jakobsen.

The fifth floor with its many possibilities makes it the perfect choice for delegations and VIP groups who can bring their own cook, host private dinner parties, hold their meetings in the suites, use the corridor as an office or just enjoy the view from the new roof top terrace.

Honoured with international awards
The new floor is not the only novelty at the hotel. The international travel site TripAdvisor has awarded the Palace Hotel Copenhagen two prestigious prizes, based on votes from millions of international travellers. The first is the so-called Traveler’s Choice Award ranking the hotel among the 25 trendiest hotels in Denmark. The second is TripAdvisors Certificate of Excellence Award, given only to hotels that consistently get the best rating by the guests. Naturally, the Managing Director is thrilled about the prizes:

”Of course we are very proud of both prizes from TripAdvisors and I am happy to see that our efforts have caught the attention of our guests who seem to be as happy about the hotel as we are. So, we hope that our new facilities on the fifth floor will be reflected in our guests’ satisfaction in the future”, says Pia Jakobsen.
