Wynn Resorts Announces Plans for Resort Expansion
Posted April 6, 2016
Would include first and only recreational lake on the Las Vegas Strip
LAS VEGAS – April 6, 2016—Steve Wynn and Wynn Resorts discussed plans at an investor conference today for a new entertainment destination built around a first-ever recreational lake concept. The development is subject to approval by the company’s Board of Directors and will include a 38 acre lagoon, surrounded by premium meetings and convention space, a 1,000 room hotel tower, a small casino and extensive dining and nightlife. The elaborate water attraction will include both daytime and nighttime entertainment elements.

“We have a chance to reinvent Las Vegas and make the whole venue an entertainment attraction…an idyllic beach paradise surrounded by white sand beaches,” said Steve Wynn chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts. “People come to Las Vegas from all over the world to live large and have a good time and we can dish up an irresistible entertainment attraction.”

Tentatively called Wynn Paradise Park, the expansion will be constructed on approximately 130 acres of real estate that currently houses the Wynn Golf Club. The proposed lagoon will be lined by a pristine white sand beach and boardwalk and feature an array of daytime activities including water skiing, paddle boarding and parasailing. At night, the space will transform with an elaborate fireworks display that is launched from the 120 ft. center island and surrounding areas.

Wynn Paradise Park will add 260,000 square feet of premium meetings space with unobstructed views of the waterfront, spacious guest rooms with a separate bedroom, living room and balcony, and a variety of restaurants, including an expansion of the current Country Club restaurant.

In addition, the resort is also developing Wynn Plaza, an expansive retail complex featuring 75,518 square feet of luxury retail space. Debuting fall 2017, the uniquely designed complex will augment the existing luxury retail collection currently showcased at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore as well as bring the shopping experience to the high traffic area bordering Las Vegas Blvd.

Wynn Las Vegas Announces Plans for a New Luxury Retail Development
Posted February 17, 2016
Wynn Plaza will feature a collection of curated premier retailers
LAS VEGAS (Feb. 17, 2016) —Wynn Las Vegas announces the development of Wynn Plaza, an expansive retail complex featuring 75,518 sq. ft. of luxury retail space. Debuting fall 2017, the uniquely designed complex will augment the existing luxury retail collection currently showcased at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore as well as bring the shopping experience to the high traffic area bordering Las Vegas Blvd.

“We had 300 or more feet on the Strip right on the sidewalk in unused real estate that was very, very valuable,” said Steve Wynn, chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts. “This represents an opportunity for future development that is quite unique.”

The design of Wynn Plaza will be influenced by European elements, specifically the legendary Avenue Matignon in the Right Bank of Paris, invoking a sense of elegance and sophistication. The selection and flow of retailers will offer visitors a unique experience with interactive and experiential opportunities dispersed throughout the space. Two entrances off of the Strip as well as a dedicated valet service will make the area highly accessible to visitors and interior entrances will offer a natural transition and seamless flow within Wynn and Encore.

Conceived and designed by Steve Wynn in collaboration with Architectural Digest Top 100 Designer Roger Thomas, Executive Vice President of Architecture DeRuyter Butler, and Wynn Design and Development, Wynn Plaza will play on elements of natural light and airiness, with two stories covered by atriums and a skylight rotunda that is prominently showcased in the heart of the space. An assortment of prestigious retailers will be curated to complement the design and provide an exclusive shopping experience for which Wynn is known.

“I have been awestruck by the Avenue Matignon since my first glimpse when I was fifteen,” said Roger Thomas, “I have always wanted to create an experience of equal awe, delight and charm for others.”

The opening of Wynn Plaza will bring the total retail square footage to more than 173,500 sq. ft. and augment the iconic brands that currently occupy Wynn and Encore, including Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hermès, Loro Piana, Moncler, Prada, Alexander McQueen and Givenchy.

Wynn Las Vegas Introduces Innovative Multimillion Dollar Show Element with Cutting-Edge Technologies to Le Rêve – The Dream
Posted November 24, 2014
New “Dénouement” scene ushers in 10th anniversary of the aquatic production show

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 24, 2014) — As Le Rêve – The Dream, the aquatic and aerial show at Wynn Las Vegas, approaches its 10-year milestone in 2015, the production has introduced a unique installment that incorporates spectacular water, fire and projection technologies.

Entitled the “Dénouement,” a French term for a final part of a narrative where the plot is revealed, the $3 million scene is situated as the penultimate act in the 75-minute production. More than 18 months in the making, the “Dénouement” includes 172 high-powered fountains, 120 individual LED lighting fixtures and 16 fire-shooting devices designed by WET, a water feature design firm based in Los Angeles, Calif.

Voted the Best Show in Las Vegas by the Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association for four consecutive years, Le Rêve – The Dream ¬has continued to evolve over its 10 year history.

“Over the past 4,500 shows, we’ve continued to introduce new elements, costumes, music and scenes to Le Rêve – The Dream. The ‘Dénouement’ stands as one of the greatest advancements in the show’s history,” said Rick Gray, general manager of entertainment operations for Wynn Las Vegas. “We do this for our guests. As no two dreams are ever truly the same, neither is our show – and we take pride in that.”

The ambitious project – spearheaded by Louanne Madorma, director of artistic implementation, and Dale Hurt, director of technical operations, for Le Rêve – The Dream – took nearly 60 designers, technicians, engineers, dancers and choreographers more than 3,000 hours to create, install and rehearse.

Choreographed by Madorma; Danita Salamida-Eldridge, the show’s resident choreographer; and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Dancing with the Stars season 18 winner, the “Dénouement” incorporates high-energy ballroom and contemporary dance and takes place in five distinct movements evident through progressions in the music and movement of water, creating a graceful and inspirational scene.

Additionally, the advanced technologies include three Oarsmen™, 20-feet tall, fan-like walls of water that twist, billow and wave while advanced LED technologies project moving images; 12 eight-feet-wide Fire Bells™ covered by umbrella-like waterfalls; and a 47-foot-tall Rain Curtain™ that descends from the ceiling to the stage incorporating moving images projected onto the 360-degree wall of water.
