Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden is an eclectic and historical hotel of 24 Suites with a special focus on art, architecture and design. It occupies a singular building in the cultural La Lonja district in Palma de Mallorca, and is home to the largest private garden in the city centre.
This revived part of Mallorca’s cultural fabric is a 5-star superior hotel set in a timeless building that was originally built in medieval times. Adorned with gothic relics, marble tiling, baroque mirrors and velvet curtains, the hotel is also firmly connected to the present through tasteful contemporary and modern design.
Can Bordoy is in the heart of La Lonja, Palma de Mallorca’s old quarter and one of its most emblematic neighbourhoods. Tucked away on a sleepy street, it is the closest hotel to the harbour and yacht moorings and just a step away from Palma’s major shopping, gastronomic and cultural attractions. These include the world-famous La Seu Cathedral, Paseo del Borne and the Paseo Maritimo, not to mention La Lonja itself, the spectacular 15th century building after which the neighbourhood is named.
Unique SPA
Can Bordoy’s spa is designed to be a sanctuary of well-being, intertwining with the garden and harnessing its natural elements to create an immersive experience to balance mind, body and soul.
The hotel’s spa will evoke memories of Roman baths while exuding a mysterious charm. Part of the spa’s facilities will be situated in the garden in order to harness nature’s elements. Guests will be able to enjoy wellness treatments in tranquil cabins under age-old trees.
This sanctuary of well-being will provide an immersive experience, balancing mind, body and soul and enhancing the wealth of treatments including double massage cabins, SPA suite with Dornbracht horizontal shower, whirlpool and a special Ayurvedic treatment room.
SECRET GARDEN
Can Bordoy jealously guards an exuberant surprise; the largest private garden in Palma’s old quarter.
The secret garden has over 70 plant species, with a diverse array of Wild-Olive, Jacaranda and fruit trees flourishing in this centuries-old hidden sanctuary of more than 750 m2.
It also houses an enormous Lledoner (European Hackberry) tree, which is a particularly significant tree on the island as it is recognised as a sign of welcome in Mallorcan houses and properties. The garden is beautifully landscaped and meticulously cared for, and it serves as an immaculate backdrop for an intimate dining or spa experience. This urban oasis is a magnificent place in which to peacefully relax while floating on the calm waters of the heated swimming pool and whirlpool, before setting
off once more to explore Palma.
GASTRONOMY BOTÀNIC CONCEPT
Our restaurant proudly features Mediterranean island cooking; blending traditional Mallorcan roots with select international touches.
We understand that our cuisine is a window into the island, reflecting its seasons, cultures and traditions, meaning those who eat our tables leave them enriched and with a greater sense of place and belonging.
ALL-DAY BREAKFAST
Your first meal of the day should never be a culinary afterthought or a quick moment to fuel up for the day. That is why we offer an exquisitely prepared breakfast so as to start the day in pleasant company around a delightfully laden table.
BISTRO
Regarding our dining philosophy, we wish to incline towards a simple approach in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. We want our kitchen to be a welcoming space which is open all-day, in order to satisfy our diner’s desires by offering healthy and tasty gastronomic experience any time they wish.
FINE DINING
Being surrounded by high-quality Mallorcan produce means that we have a deep relationship with the raw materials we use each day. This has made us creative and we are constantly looking at new ways of reinventing dishes. We are averse to frivolous touches, and everything we put on a plate is there for a reason, while adding texture and depth to each dish.
